Happy Mother’s Day!

One relationship which is always with us is the one we share with our mothers. They are our guiding force and are responsible for making us who we are. Mothers also shape our lives and our personalities and crediting them for the same is something one should do at every opportunity. We all have our own individualistic approach in paying tribute to these amazing people in our lives, our mothers, and today is all about them. Happy Mother's Day!

Mother’s Day is nearly here!

It's true: Moms can be very hard to buy for. So what's a dad or kid supposed to do? We have a few ideas for you here at Crescent Hill Gallery which will help make it a day she will not soon forget! Plan Ahead This is an occasion that should focus on Mom and make her feel really special -- like the sun rises and sets on her! Try to think of what she has mentioned throughout the year. You should be making notes of these subtle comments months ahead, so keep a running list. Take Notes Set up a memo on your smartphone or leave a pad of paper in a drawer and add items or thoughts to the list as they come up. If you hear her mention her love of tulips, don't bring home carnations. If you're looking for some really special flowers that she'll have forever, take a look at some of the stunning  floral paintings by our artists here at the gallery! Give what she wants Mother's Day is the time to show your mom you understand and appreciate her. So tailor your gift around what she likes -- or dislikes. If she likes to shop, buy her a gift certificate for her favourite store . If she hates weeding the garden, surprise her by doing the chore for her. The bottom line Just let her know how much you love her and how much you appreciate everything she does for you all year long -- it's the best gift of all!

In the Garden with Emilija Pasagic

Flowers are starting to bloom everywhere, including right here at Crescent Hill Gallery! We have some lovely new paintings by Emilja Pasagic in the gallery today, so be sure to come by and check them out! Depending on her mood and what is available in her studio Emilija can incorporate as many as a half dozen elements into each painting. Her technique involves a unique blending of bee's wax and oil paint applied to paper, board or canvas. In this contemporary application of the ancient technique of encaustic, the paint is sometimes blended into the hot wax, burnt into it or simply painted upon it. She often fuses paper and cloth into the pigments to create textures, and uses gold leaf and various gel mediums to add unique antique effects. The paintings take on depth and mystery with a balanced tension between texture and form.

Lovely new bouquets by Julia Klimova

We have two beautiful new floral paintings by Julia Klimova today!  If you're looking for a special gift for Mother's Day, these would certainly win the day! Julia Klimova's paintings combine the changing particularities of our modern experiences with the expressions of eternal values, beauty, aspirations and humanity, which she hopes will lift the spirits and delight the eyes of those seeing them for many years to come.

A Little Warmth On A Snowy Saturday
